Hey Creative Souls,
I hope you are safe and well.
I’ve just returned from a lovely four day family trip to Budapest, Hungary, where I realised that every walk is potentially a “photo walk”.
I’ll be sharing some snaps from Budapest, as well as a four day travel guide complete with Google Maps locations and more in this edition!

Budapest
We booked a very last minute (well, four days before) trip to Budapest, Hungary last week.
Given it was half-term, and a bank holiday, we took the chance to get away.
It was a brilliant four days (three nights). The weather was our friend, and we crammed in a lot in that time, whilst still having enough time to wander and stop for a drink or two. We even visited the thermal baths twice as the boys enjoyed it so much.
I realised that every walk is a photo-walk. My camera is never far away, especially on holiday, so I thought I’d share some photos from the trip.
Not only that, but I pulled together a Budapest travel guide in case you were thinking of visiting.
As a mini Creative Soul Project, I thought I’d take the plunge and use a new tool I’ve been playing with recently, called Fold.
It’s pretty cool - I like the way you can navigate both vertically to read the article - and horizontally to see photos and links. Check it out below.
Budapest travel guide
Not only is there a Fold article, but also a Google Map highlighting the sights we visited and a Google Sheet with the itinerary in, if you wished to use this as a starter for your own trip.

As you can see from the guides, we planned our days around clusters of sights to avoid too much distance between them all. It’s a pretty big city.
It’s worth downloading the Bolt taxi app (or Uber if that’s your thing). Taxis are pretty affordable. There were five of us though, which made finding an XL car a little trickier.
Check out the Fold to hear about the hotel, some challenges with getting too and from Margaret Island, recommended sights to see and restaurants we visited.
I hope you enjoy the guide!
Photos from Budapest
Literally every walk is a potential photo-walk for a keen photographer.
I typically have my Ricoh GR camera with me, or if I’m feeling particularly enthusiastic, my Sony RX 10. Even if I don’t have these, there’s always my iPhone too.
I think you can tell a lot about your own interests by what you choose to take photos of (or draw, or write about). That’s precisely why I like to look back over various trips and spot patterns. One clear one for me is traffic in and around the city.
The photo above is the Parliament Building, complete with traffic!
The shoes on the bank of the Danube is a memorial to the thousands of Jews killed or imprisoned during, and after, World War 2.

The Ruin bars are as they sound - bars in old ruined building. They are pretty special and very cool indeed. Well worth a visit. Very photogenic too.

The views from the top of Buda Castle are spectacular, along with Fishermans Bastion. Definitely worth a trip.
The Ricoh, despite being a street photography camera, takes pretty good landscape photos.
As a car fan, it would be remiss of me not to snap some vehicles.

That’s about all the photos I can squeeze into an email.

Until next time, where I’ll be sharing more about mastering the art of Public Speaking!
Cheers
Keep the creative dream alive.
